Olympic Subs & Steaks Reviews

Food has always been good ever since I was a little girl. My Grandma Myrtle turned her family on to this place. I wonder what happened to the old guy who used to be at the front of the house? He was oh so kind and generous and always put a smile on everyone face. It's a pleasure patronizing you guys ever since the late 90s to early 2000s and Now

The staff here is amazing and their food is even better!! Id highly recommend the screaming cheesesteak

Olympic has the best subs in Delaware! The bread was fresh, meat was plentiful! My husband and I have been twice since a friend recommended we try them. During our first visit we met Nick the owner. Had a very pleasant conversation about family businesses. Staff was very friendly and patient during our first visit. We will be stopping by anytime we are in Wilmington. You must try the Nigerian!! My favorite sandwich. Many menu items to choose from so it will take a while to try it all. The onion rings looked very tempting, so I will have to try them along with some old bay wings during my next visit.

Everyone has an opinion. Not everyone is qualified to share it, but since we are- There's maybe five cheesesteaks worth eating in Delaware. I put Olympic at the top of the list. Get extra cheese. And bring someone to share with, because that's more than you need to eat.

If you are meandering through the area, make sure to skip, run, or power walk your way here for a delicious sandwich. You will feel like you have won a gold medal as soon as you bite into their gyros. Found this by chance after finishing a leg workout and needing some much deserved carbs from Jimmy Johns, but much to my dismay I found out they are closed on weekends. As many of us do, I begin to panic and frantically search for a last minute option, as I do at sit down restaurants when the server comes back way to early to take my order and I am in the middle of a story with friends and have not even looked at the menu. To my surprise I find a plethora of establishments serving all sorts of tasty morsels but the smell from here and my insatiable hunger and cramping legs propel into Olympic. I was greeted by a friendly staff and the locals raved about how great the food was. And yes they were correct. Only complaint is that they kept trying to correct me on the pronunciation of Gyro. It is not called a "Gy-Row"; however, the food tasted incredible and I can get past their mispronunciation.

My go-to lunch spot for subs in downtown Wilmington - great taste and huge portions (like seriously, the small size itself is sufficient on most occasions). Best to call beforehand for to-go orders, they'll have your order ready within 15 minutes.

I'm still not sure about this cheesesteak. It had a sneaky good amount of meat and a sneaky lot of grease/oil. The fried onions were much hotter than the meat which at times was very uncomfortably for my mouth. $17.75 for the combo and it was definitely big enough to share. Plenty of tables and a bathroom. I know the tots came from a food supplier and Olympic just deep fried them but they were good tots and plenty of them.

Easily one of the best sandwich shops in Wilmington Delaware. I have been coming here for years and their hoagies are always consistent and never disappoint. You can get your sandwich in a variety of sizes and with your choice of accompaniments at no extra charge except for hot peppers. Now not everyone does a corned beef hoagie. It's definitely one of my favorites especially when the meat is so beautifully lean (see photo below) and not chocked full of gristle and scraps (like some other place I know-looking at you Sciarrinos). This large hoagie cost me 12.85 and will easily feed me twice. A winner, hands down.
